There comes a day when you just need to face the truth. That things aren’t getting any better. That you’re not happy and haven’t been for a while.
It’s tough to admit it. After all, you’ve been through so much together. So many memories. All the time and effort invested in something that you were sure was going to last forever, or at least for a very long time.
But you know when it’s over. I think we both have known for some time.
So it is time to pack my digital bags and move to a new blog.
I’m sorry, WordPress. It’s not you; it’s me. (Well, actually, it’s totally you. I’m great. You’re a mess! High maintenance and spammy and just impossible to reason with. And all those plugins? Gah!)
While I’m in the midst of upheaval and everything is a mess, I’m going to move the blog to a new domain as well. Just to make sure that nothing will ever work properly again. No, but I’ve decided to go with the bubble wrap and publish the first Konrad book under a slightly different name, and it would be weird if I kept the blog on my oldname.com-domain.
I’ve moved all the posts and comments and hopefully things will work the way they’re supposed to, even if it might look a bit weird at first. There’s something wonky with the spacing after you export and import a blog from WordPress to Blogger. When I moved the other way, WP decided to publish all my photos twice. I’m sure there is weird stuff like that happening this time around as well, but I’ll fix it, eventually.
For now, I’m just going to wander around this new place and get a feel of it. Settle in. Get everything ready for the launch. (Yes, it’s almost time!)
